In this study, performance results of data acquisition systems realized for "electrical conductivity imaging of biological tissues via contactless measurement", a new imaging modality developed in METU Brain Research Laboratories, are presented. Each system, employing magnetic induction-magnetic measurements technique, obtains conductivity data from the object to be imaged via contactless measurements and sends the data to the PC The operating frequencies of the systems are between 10-100 kHz, The sensor types used in the systems are: 1) differential coil, 2) single coil, and 3) array coils. It is observed from the experiments that all of the systems are sensitive to the conductivity variations around the average tissue conductivity of 0.2 S/m. The results reveal the clinical potential of the relatively novel imaging modality developed in METU Brain Research Laboratories

Conceptual design and evaluation of a multichannel ECG data acquisition device
Robaei, Mohammadreza; Serinağaoğlu Doğrusöz, Yeşim; Küçükdeveci, Fikret (2015-01-01)
In this study, we developed a conceptual design for a high resolution multichannel ECG data acquisition system for recording of electrical activity of the heart. The system has modular architecture, both in hardware and software layers. It consists of several recording units controlled by sub-microcontrollers, and one main unit that contains the main-microcontroller. Special distributed message based operating system has been developed and embedded to sub-microcontrollers and main-microcontroller to provide...
A Hybrid geo-activity recommendation system using advanced feature combination and semantic activity similarity
Sattari, Masoud; Toroslu, İsmail Hakkı; Department of Computer Engineering (2013)
In this study, a new method for analyzing and representing the discriminative information, distributed in functional Magnetic Resonance Imaging (fMRI) data, is proposed. For this purpose, a local mesh with varying size is formed around each voxel, called the seed voxel. The relationships among each seed voxel and its neighbors are estimated using a linear regression equation by minimizing the expectation of the squared error. This squared error coming from linear regression is used to calculate various info...

Analyzing the Information Distribution in the fMRI Measurements by Estimating the Degree of Locality
Onal, Itir; Ozay, Mete; Firat, Orhan; GİLLAM, İLKE; Yarman Vural, Fatoş Tunay (2013-07-07)
In this study, we propose a new method for analyzing and representing the distribution of discriminative information for data acquired via functional Magnetic Resonance Imaging (fMRI). For this purpose, we form a spatially local mesh with varying size, around each voxel, called the seed voxel. The relationship among each seed voxel and its neighbors is estimated using a linear regression model by minimizing the square error. Then, we estimate the optimal mesh size that represents the connections among each ...
An Improved Receiver for Harmonic Motion Microwave Doppler Imaging
Soydan, Damla Alptekin; Irgin, Umit; Top, Can Baris; Gençer, Nevzat Güneri (2020-03-01)
© 2020 EurAAP.Harmonic motion microwave Doppler imaging is a novel imaging modality that combines focused ultrasound and radar techniques to obtain data based on mechanical and electrical properties of the tissue. In previous experimental studies, the Doppler component of the scattered signal is sensed and used to create 2D images of a tumor inside a homogeneous fat phantom. Due to the drawbacks of the receiver configuration, scanning time was high, the signal-to-noise ratio was low, and the multi-frequency...
