Final discussion and looking forward
Gülgöz, Sami; Şahin Acar, Başak (Routledge, London/New York , 2020-06-01)
The current book provides an extensive view of theoretical and methodological approaches in autobiographical memory research. Chapters in this volume elucidate research findings and theoretical ideas for various aspects of autobiographical memory development. At the same time, they bring out the gaps and limitations in our understanding of how children begin to form a memory of experienced events that are linked to their selves, and how as adults, our memory of our childhood is molded by our experiences and...
Final results of V̄e - e scattering cross-section measurements and constraints on new physics
Deniz, Muhammed; Bilmiş, Selçuk; Wong, Henry T (2012-01-01)
The (nu) over bar (e) - e elastic scattering cross-section was measured with a CsI(Tl) scintillating crystal detector array with a total mass of 187 kg at the Kuo-Sheng Nuclear Power Station. The detectors were exposed to a reactor (nu) over bar (e) flux of 6.4 x 10(12) cm(-2)s(-1) originated from a core with 2.9 GW thermal power. Using 29882/7369 kg-days of Reactor ON/OFF data, the Standard Model (SM) of electroweak interaction was probed at the 4-momentum transfer range of Q(2) similar to 3 x 10(-6) GeV2....
Failing promises of homeownership in Turkey
Aksoy Khurami, Esma; Özdemir Sarı, Özgül Burcu; Department of City and Regional Planning (2020-12-23)
Homeownership is not a new agenda of housing policy in Turkey. During the last 20 years, policies promoting homeownership have been executed, and planning has been used as a pair of tongs. Through new house building, the increase in homeownership rates is expected to provide individuals with a means of opportunity. As initial promises, homeownership is argued to provide everyone with a chance to acquire a stable home, a way of refraining from affordability problems, wealth accumulation through housing, and ...
Third-Country Participation to the European Union's CSDP: Turkey's CSDP Journey through Operations and Missions
Ergün, Şeyda Nur; Torun, Zerrin; Department of European Studies (2021-10)
The European Union has been moving towards strategic autonomy for years, and this effort has recently been more obvious. The EU's most visible actions in "global actorness" are arguably crisis management missions/operations. As an EU candidate for accession and a NATO Ally for over half a century, Turkey has been involved in the shaping of the European security and defense identity and policy. Turkey and the EU have had ups-and-downs in the accession process, and these have reflections on Turkey's interacti...
