Skin-like self-assembled monolayers on InAs/GaSb superlattice photodetectors
Salihoglu, Omer; Muti, Abdullah; Kutluer, Kutlu; Tansel, Tunay; Turan, Raşit; AYDINLI, ATİLLA (2012-09-12)
We report on the effects of monolayer (ML) thick skin-like octadecanethiol (ODT, CH3[CH2](17)SH) on type-II InAs/GaSb MWIR photodetectors. Circumventing the ageing effects of conventional sulfur compounds, we use ODT, a self-assembling, long molecular chain headed with a sulfur atom. Photodiodes coated with and without the self-assembled monolayer (SAM) ODT were compared for their electrical and optical performances. For ODT-coated diodes, the dark current density was improved by two orders of magnitude at ...
Plastic object detection with an infrared hyperspectral image
Diri, Mehmet Fatih; Süzen, Mehmet Lütfi; Department of Geodetic and Geographical Information Technologies (2019)
Undoubtedly, a world without plastic, which is the most important production material in almost every area, seems inconceivable today. The production and consumption chain, by which induced this versatile use, has caused plastic pollution that has devastating effects on the environment and natural ecosystems. In this thesis, which written with the motivation of contributing to the fight against plastic pollution and to be useful developing effective and sustainable policies, plastic pollution and pollutant ...
Paper Based Glucose Biosensor Using Graphene Modified with a Conducting Polymer and Gold Nanoparticles
GOKOGLAN, Tugba Ceren; KESİK, Melis; SOYLEMEZ, Saniye; YÜKSEL, Recep; Ünalan, Hüsnü Emrah; Toppare, Levent Kamil (The Electrochemical Society, 2017-01-01)
In this work a novel approach was reported for glucose detection using disposable paper based electrodes consisting graphene modified with a conducting polymer, glucose oxidase (GOx) and gold nanoparticles. For the first time, a conducting polymer; poly(9,9-di-(2-ethylhexyl)-fluorenyl-2,7-diyl)-end capped with 2,5-diphenyl-1,2,4-oxadiazole (PFLO) was spread over graphene coated papers and used as a matrix for glucose detection. To finalize the desired biosensor, the enzyme GOx was immobilized with gold nano...
Paper Based, Expanded Graphite/Polypyrrole Nanocomposite Supercapacitors Free from Binders and Current Collectors
YÜKSEL, Recep; UYSAL, Nilperi; Aydınlı, Alptekin; Ünalan, Hüsnü Emrah (2018-01-01)
Expanded graphite (EG) - polypyrrole (PPy) hybrid nanocomposites are used for the fabrication of paper-based highly flexible supercapacitor devices. Brush-painted EG electrodes are utilized as electrodes for the electrodeposition of PPy, resulting in the formation of nanocomposite electrodes with the desired material loading. Fabricated paper-based electrodes are free from heavy current collectors, binders, and conductive additives. Within nanocomposite electrodes, expanded graphite layer on paper facilitat...
