Sevin Osmay started her undergraduate studies at METU Department of Psychology in 1959. After graduating in 1963, she started to work as a research assistant in the Social Planning department of the State Planning Organization and served for 3 years. She received a Master's Degree in Sociology from the London School of Economics. Osmay, later served as a lecturer in the Department of City and Regional Planning at the Middle East Technical University and retired from there. Sevin Osmay gave lectures on urban sociology, urbanization, participatory planning and design.
