Gülay Özdemir graduated from METU Department of Civil Engineering. She worked as a manager at Yapı Merkezi A.Ş. in Istanbul, at the construction companies of Tepe Group in Ankara and at various levels in Atılım Yapı A.Ş. Between 2002 and 2009 she was the General Secretary of the Chamber of Civil Engineers. She served as a Member of the Board of Directors of the European Council of Civil Engineers (ECCE) between 2005 and 2008, as Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of the World Council of Civil Engineers (WCCE) during 2006-2009. She has been the General Secretary of Turkish Autoclaved Aerated Concrete Association since November 2011. Özdemir was a member of İTB (Technical Assessment of Construction and Scientific Research Council) Board in 2012 and has been a member of YAD (Building Research Association) Board of Directors since November 2013. Gülay ÖZDEMİR is single and mother of two children.
