Universal adversarial perturbations using alternating loss functions
Şen, Deniz; Temizel, Alptekin; Department of Modeling and Simulation (2022-8-23)
Deep learning models have been the main choice for image classification, however, recently it has been shown that even the most successful models are vulnerable to adversarial attacks. Unlike image-dependent attacks, universal adversarial perturbations can generate an adversarial example when added to any image. These perturbations are usually generated to fool the whole dataset and most successful attacks can reach 100% fooling rate, however they cannot be controlled to stabilize around a desired fooling r...
Universal extra dimensions and Kaluza-Klein bound states
Carone, CD; Conroy, JM; Sher, M; Turan, İsmail (American Physical Society (APS), 2004-04-01)
We study the bound states of the Kaluza-Klein (KK) excitations of quarks in certain models of universal extra dimensions. Such bound states may be detected at future lepton colliders in the cross section for the pair production of KK quarks near threshold. For typical values of model parameters, we find that "KK quarkonia" have widths in the 10-100 MeV range, and production cross sections of the order of a few picobarns for the lightest resonances. Two body decays of the constituent KK quarks lead to distin...
Generalized nonbinary sequences with perfect autocorrelation, flexible alphabets and new periods
BOZTAŞ, Serdar; Özbudak, Ferruh; TEKİN, Eda (Springer Science and Business Media LLC, 2018-05-01)
We extend the parameters and generalize existing constructions of perfect autocorrelation sequences over complex alphabets. In particular, we address the PSK+ constellation (Boztas and Udaya 2010) and present an extended number theoretic criterion which is sufficient for the existence of the new sequences with perfect autocorrelation. These sequences are shown to exist for nonprime alphabets and more general lengths in comparison to existing designs. The new perfect autocorrelation sequences provide novel a...
Universal groups of intermediate growth and their invariant random subgroups
Benli, Mustafa Gökhan; Nagnibeda, Tatiana (2015-07-01)
We exhibit examples of groups of intermediate growth with ergodic continuous invariant random subgroups. The examples are the universal groups associated with a family of groups of intermediate growth.
