This study aims to find the possibilities of green building rating systems in the built environment with the combination of circularity principles and LCA tools. With the increase in waste and consumption, circularity principles have started to be adopted by the built environment. The circular design allows components to be designed to be reassembled and regenerated, which produces no landfill. Using circular design methods in architecture can create new alternatives to the materials and the components, which helps to divide the buildings into layers and the possibility of the act on them separately. These concepts have been used in circular design as it has the potential of increasing the lifetime of the materials and the buildings. Along with the circular design, the increase in the certification system was also visible. This study focuses on comparing the existing certification systems and their evaluations of the circular buildings. The comparison focuses on the way the material is addressed in the certification systems.
