In the memory of Arif Payaslıoğlu

Arif Payaslıoğlu was born in 1926 in İstanbul. In 1947, after graduating from Ankara University Faculty of Political Sciences, he became an assistant of public law in 1948 at the same faculty. In 1955, he was appointed as associate professor at the Department of Public Law at the Faculty of Political Sciences. In 1961, Payaslıoğlu left his duty at the Faculty of Political Sciences and was appointed to the position of Vice Rector at METU. He became a professor in 1966 while he was a member of the Faculty of Administrative Sciences. Between 1961-70, he served as the dean of the Faculty of Administrative Sciences. In 1981-82, he also served as the deputy dean of the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences with the request of the faculty members. After the appointment of a dean out of the university in September 1982, he became the project manager of the Prime Ministry Public Administration Commission within the scope of todaie. He served on this commission that perform significant works about "reorganization of Turkish public administration and administrative reform in Türkiye" in 1982-83. In 1984, Mr. Payaslıoğlu retired voluntarily from the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences of METU
