METU Rowing Team used the facility, which is now ORFOZ Restaurant, as a boathouse during the years it was founded, and laid the foundations of the team. When the facility used by the swimming team was inadequate at that time, the building, which is now the Sports Club Tavern, was built as a boathouse in 1966 and witnessed many national and international successes until 1992. Rising needs and the increasing number of boats and oars caused the tavern to be insufficient and the boathouse that we currently use came to life in 1992. In addition to numerous national and international successes since 1962, the team got its name among the big teams and became known with the Senior A Men's Team Championship in 1993. Our team, Seniors B, has continued success with the men and women athletes in Juniors and Lightweight categories.
