1990
METU Theater Festival is held traditionally by METU Actors and participating communities every year. The festival, the first of which was organized in 1960, was called "Amateur Theaters Festival" until 1989. The play ‘İdam Mahkumu’ (Hollwarthy Hall, Robert Middlemass) was staged in the first year. The festival, which was uninterrupted until September 12, was reopened in 1982, a while after it was closed in 1980. The traditional event was revived in 1989 under the name "METU Theaters Festival" with the theater works "Şenlik'89". METU Theater Festival, which has hosted many artists since the "Amateur Theaters Festival", is held in the METU Architecture Amphitheater in the last week of April every year.
