Middle East Technical University started to give education under the name of "Middle East Advanced Technology Institute" on November 15, 1956. (1956-1962). After spending the first years (1956-1962) in Müdafaa Street in Kızılay with a small building belonging to the Retirement Fund, it moved to its current location, which was the first campus of our country in 1963. The aerial views of 44,000 acres of land, referred to as Balgat land, were recorded by the TSK Photofilm Center Command.
