Middle East Technical University (ODTÜ), which established the first internet connection in Turkey on April 12, 1993, prepared a documentary film titled "From Telexnet to the Internet: 64KB" to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the internet in Turkey. The documentary, prepared by ODTÜ-GİSAM, was conducted using the oral history method with the individuals who realized the project, covering the process from the project writing stage to the establishment of the first connection. The extraordinary efforts and work pace of a small group working at ODTÜ's Information Processing Directorate witnessed the excitement of the first connection. Led by Atilla Özgit, the team consisting of Kürşat Çağıltay, Erdal Taner, and Serhat Çakır from TÜBİTAK, Tuğrul Yılmaz, and Ufuk Özlü successfully established the internet connection, which became an important milestone for Turkey's change and development. In addition to the connection of the internet, the group known as the "Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse" or the "Internet Gang," including Mustafa Akgül, Ethem Derman, Ufuk Çağlayan, and Atilla Özgit, devoted many years of hard work to the widespread adoption and use of the internet.
