Arctic Region is witnessing an unprecedented and transformative change due to impacts of global warming. Rapidly changing environmental and climatic conditions, are altering the ecological, economic and political significance of the region for the whole world. Accordingly, once a peripheral and untended region for the global politics, today is becoming an inseparable part of the international political agenda through many different issue areas. This study aims to examine evolution of Arctic Politics since the 1980s and provide a comprehensive analysis of the current outlook of the Arctic Regime Complex. Meanwhile, study also intends to overcome the contradiction between cooperation - conflict narratives that shaped anterior works on regional politics, within the International Relations discipline. In this regard, study argues that combining neorealist and neoliberal approaches to international regimes through a contextualized understanding, can provide a better account for understanding and explaining the evolution of Arctic politics and regional cooperation. Accordingly, study claims that the context of interaction for Arctic Politics has been experiencing significant changes since the late 1980s, resulting into alterations in regional cooperation dynamics.
