This study examined the effect of gender-neutral activities on preschool children’s gender stereotypes who aged between 48 and 60 months. In addition, this study examined gender perceptions of parents and teachers along with children’s gender stereotypes. Lastly, child books were analyzed in terms of gender stereotypic content. In quantitative part of the study, a total of 53 children and 102 parents participated. In qualitative part, two reschool teachers and 50 child books constituted the sample of the study. To collect quantitative data, Preschool Occupation, Activity, and Trait Attitude Measure (POAT-AM), and gender perception scale were used in this inquiry. In qualitative part, teacher observations, teacher interviews and coding sheets were utilized to collect data. The study findings indicated that preschool children have gender stereotypes. Moreover, gender-neutral activities ecreased their gender stereotypes. Besides, gender perceptions of mothers vary based on their education level while fathers gender perceptions did not vary according to education level. In terms of teacher encouragements, preschool teachers were likely to encourage children’s gender stereotypes through their behaviors, language and reinforcements to specific activities and materials. Lastly, the child books may contain gender stereotypic content by providing solely male or female stereotyped occupations, activities, and traits.
