This study aims to build a palynostratigraphical framework for the Middle Devonian-Lower Carboniferous sediments from the Central and Eastern Taurides. For this aim, six sections from three different localities comprising sediments of the Gölboğazı, Yarıcakyayla, Şafaktepe, Gümüşali and Ziyarettepe formations were measured and studied. Based on the data, twelve interval zones were determined: Geminospora lemurata interval zone, Samarisporites triangulatus interval zone, Chelinospora concinna interval zone, Lophozonotriletes media interval zone, Auroraspora pseudocrista interval zone, Grandispora famenensis interval zone, Rugospora flexuosa interval zone, Apiculiretusispora verrucosa interval zone, Knoxisporites literatus interval zone, Indotriradites explanatus interval zone, Verrucosisporites nitidus interval zone, and Densosporites variomarginatus interval zone. The Devonian-Carboniferous boundary was tentatively placed based on the first occurrence of Densosporites variomarginatus in the Naltaş-3 Section. Globally recorded ‘positive Hangenberg isotopic excursion’ of δ13Ccarb was also determined within the Ziyarettepe Formation. A sequence stratigraphic approach was carried out in the Naltaş-3 Section. From the bottom to the top, HST, TST and HST were identified and a local sequence boundary above the Devonian-Carboniferous boundary was recorded. A quantitative palynofacies study was carried out from the D-C boundary interval in the Naltaş-3 Section. Based on the distribution of organic matter and palynomorphs, P1 and P2 palynofacies were determined. P1 palynofacies indicates shallow marine depositional condition with high terrestrial impact, P2 palynofacies indicates a rather increasing marine influence in the depositional environment. In the Naltaş-3 Section, Retispora lepidophyta dominated the palynomorph assemblage. Morphological changes of R. lepidophyta was also recorded and its relationship with Aratrisporites saharaensis was proposed.
