Dynamics of Textile Spinning of Spindles and Rotors

1986-9
The vibrational behaviour of textile ring spinning spindles and open-end rotors used in yarn production has been studied by using finite elements. The study investigates the effects of axial load, shear deformation, stiffness of bearings and mass of the yarn bobbin on the forward and backward whirl speeds of the ring spinning spindle. The corresponding mode shapes of the spindle and the whirl orbits due to a linearly varying mass unbalance have also been determined. Reference has been made to experimental and numerical results found in literature.
