The current study had several purposes. First, to design, implement, and develop a mindfulness program for children in early childhood education. Second, to investigate the views of the participants regarding the designed, implemented, and developed mindfulness program for children in early childhood education. And third, to explore the contributions of the designed, implemented, and developed mindfulness program to preschool children, their teachers, and their parents. In line with the purposes, the study was carried out in three phases of design-based research: preliminary research, prototyping, and assessment. The data were collected through interview, observation, portfolio, and journal from two public preschools in Ankara and the participants were children (N=47), parents (N=33), and teachers (N=2). At the end of the study, the design principles were finalized, and the facilitators and obstacles of the mindfulness program were revealed. In addition, the importance of mindfulness was emphasized by taking participant views on the mindfulness program. Finally, it was concluded that while the mindfulness program contributes to the development of children, it is also beneficial for the personal and professional development and psychological well-being of teachers and parents. Based on the findings from the study, it can be concluded that the mindfulness program can be beneficial not only in supporting children’s learning experience of mindfulness but also in constructing a bridge between schools and parents. Consequently, the designed, implemented, and developed mindfulness program provides recent and different pathway for the integration of mindfulness in early childhood education by emphasizing the importance of parent involvement.
