A study on the red cell enzyme and blood group polymorphisms in Turkish populations
Dereli, ipek; Togan, İnci; Department of Biology (1994)
A QSAR study of the biological activities of some benzimidazoles and imidazopyridines against Bacillus subtilis
Ertepınar, Hamide; Gök, Yaşar; Geban, Ömer; Özden, Seçkin (1995-04-01)
A set of benzimidazole (I) and imidazopyridine (II) derivatives that have previously been tested for their antibacterial activities against Bacillus subtilis were analyzed using the quantitative structure-activity relationship (QSAR) method. The activity contributions for structural and substituent effects were determined from the correlation equations, which were derived using all possible combination and stepwise regression techniques. The best equation was chosen among the other equations by considering ...
A dft study of ethylene adsorption and hydrogenation mechanisms on nickel
Yılmazer, Nusret Duygu; Önal, Işık; Department of Chemical Engineering (2010)
Ethylene adsorption was studied by use of DFT/B3LYP with basis set 6-31G(d,p) in Gaussian‘03 software. It was found that ethylene adsorbs molecularly on the Ni13 nanocluster with π adsorption mode. π adsorption mode is studied for the Ni10 (1 1 1), Ni13 (1 0 0) and Ni10 (1 1 0) surface cluster as well. Relative energy values were calculated as −50.86 kcal/mol, −20.48 kcal/mol, −32.44 kcal/mol and −39.27 kcal/mol for Ni13 nanocluster, Ni10 (1 1 1), Ni13 (1 0 0) and Ni10 (1 1 0) surface cluster models, respec...
A Study on induction of minicell formation by FtsZ overproducing L-form E. coli
Yılmaz, İsmail Cem; Özcengiz, Gülay; Gürsel, Mayda; Department of Biology (2014)
L-form organisms (or L-phase, L-variants) are cell wall-deficient (CWD) bacteria consisting of protoplasts and spheroplasts that have the ability to grow and divide. The mutant strain LW1655F+ (also known as L-form E. coli) was originally derived from the parental E. coli K-12 parental strain and is known to be deficient in cell wall, periplasmic space, flagella, fimbriae and outer membrane. Minicells are small cell-like structures that do not have genomic DNA and are produced during the logarithmic phase o...
