Several gas fields in Thrace basin, Turkey, have been developed and almost depleted in the last decade. Yulaflı-Karacalı field is located in the east of the basin and producing mainly from gas reservoirs of the Osmancık Formation. This is a very special field in terms of unexpected reservoir properties. An extension of Terzili Fault Zone is divided the field into two halves. In the field, deeper sections of the Osmancık Formation produces from the lower block of the fault zone, while its part in the upper block controversially does not or less produce. The aim of this study is to characterize porosity and permeability variations and facies properties of deeper Osmancık Formation. The first objective is to interpret newly processed data and build a structural model to specify geometry. The second objective is to investigate the difference in facies and petrophysical behaviour of shallower and deeper parts of the Osmancık Formation in terms of geology and geophysics, using sedimentology and quantitative seismic interpretation. The final objective indicates a geological reservoir modeling study, including property and facies modelling, to find answers to the questions mentioned above using geostatistical techniques such as Sequential Indicator Simulation and Sequential Gaussian Simulation. This study indicates that porosity and permeability values decrease and properties of the facies worsen as a consequence of diagenesis process at higher depths of the Osmancık Formation. Mapping of the results from the applied methods in this field will improve our understanding of reservoir properties in the study field.
