Perovskite solar cells quickly became a highly promising alternative to silicon solar cells in terms of low initial investment, and low-cost production combined with similar efficiencies. Long-term stability issues are one of the major factors hindering their commercialization. Equally important is the toxicity of the lead that is one of the major component to fabricate these devices is an imminent danger to the environment and human health. To overcome this issue, a proper recycling method for perovskite solar cells should be developed before the commercialization of this technology. In this work, total recovery and recycling of several different components of mixed scrap perovskite devices was achieved with the help of utilizing methylamine as a novel solvent as the main recycling medium.
