This study has focused on studying the current Iranian women’s movement (Women_Life_Freedom) in Iran that has emerged since the death of a Kurdish girl, Mahsa (Jina) Amini, on September 16, 2022. The incident triggered a continuous series of protests that were initially aimed at implementing alterations regarding women’s status and laws imposed on them, and they consequently reached the level of toppling the regime. The Bidarzani (Awakening) website is an unregistered online platform that actively covers the incidents, causes, and demands articulated during the Women_Life_Freedom movement from the perspective of Iranian feminist activists who reside in Iran and devote their works to the website. This thesis implements a content analysis of the thirty-two articles published after the death of Mahsa Amini (until March 2023) under the section Agent of Change’ on the Bidarzani website. The findings depict the outline of the website in two formats: (1) the causes of the Jina (Mahsa) uprising and (2) the demands propagated by the contributors to the website. The causes are categorized into three points: (1) the state’s systematic gender oppression of women; (2) the intersection of linked oppression and repression of oppressed groups; and (3) the continuation of previous uprisings and protests that triggered the Jina uprising. Meanwhile, the demands are divided into two categories: (1) women’s demands presented in the form of charters and the complementary criticisms added to the charters; and (2) charters composed by trade unions and civil organizations in Iran.
