Zero state doped turbo equalizer
Gazi, Orhan; Yılmaz, Ali Özgür (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), 2007-02-01)
Although iterative equalizers perform well at low signal to noise ratios, high latency is a major disadvantage for their use in practical communication systems. In this article we propose zero state doped turbo equalizers (ZSDTEs) which can be processed in parallel and have significantly reduced processing delays. The proposed technique shows better performance when compared to the sliding window method.
Zero phase delay in negative-refractive-index photonic crystal superlattices
Kocaman, Serdar; Hsieh, P.; McMillan, J.F.; Biris, C.G.; Panoiu, N.C.; Yu, M.B.; Kwong, D.L.; Stein, A.; Wong, C.W. (2011-08-01)
We show that optical beams propagating in path-averaged zero-index photonic crystal superlattices can have zero phase delay. The nanofabricated superlattices consist of alternating stacks of negative index photonic crystals and positive index homogeneous dielectric media, where the phase differences corresponding to consecutive primary unit cells are measured with integrated Mach-Zehnder interferometers. These measurements demonstrate that at path-averaged zero-index frequencies the phase accumulation remai...
Low dark current N structure superlattice MWIR photodetectors
Salihoglu, Omer; Muti, Abdullah; Turan, Raşit; ERGÜN, YÜKSEL; AYDINLI, ATİLLA (2014-05-08)
Commercially available read out integrated circuits (ROICs) require the FPA to have high dynamic resistance area product at zero bias (R(0)A) which is directly related to dark current of the detector. Dark current arises from bulk and surface contributions. Recent band structure engineering studies significantly suppressed the bulk contribution of the type-II superlattice infrared photodetectors (N structure, M structure, W structure). In this letter, we will present improved dark current results for unipol...

Low input voltage and high step-up integrated regulator for thermoelectric energy harvesting
Pathirana, W. P. M. R.; Jayaweera, H. M. P. C.; Muhtaroglu, Ali (2015-03-26)
This paper presents a low input voltage and high step-up fully integrated DC-DC regulator in 0.18 mu m standard CMOS technology for thermoelectric micro-power generation. The circuit avoids off-chip components, non-standard processes, and is thus suitable for ultra-low voltage low profile system-on-chip applications. The proposed system can deliver a regulated output voltage of 1.5 V at 31 mu W output power with an input voltage as low as 0.2 V. The maximum simulated efficiency is 22% at the given step-up r...
