In civil and environmental engineering, analytical simulation models help engineers understand the physical and chemical processes that influence contaminant transport through a saturated soil layer, including advective and dispersive transport and sorption. The MATLAB program was developed based on an existing analytical solution for the two-dimensional transport of contaminants in a saturated soil layer. The computer program is prepared for the pulse source. The simulation is used to obtain the profiles of contaminant concentration as a function of distance from the source and time for a steady groundwater velocity. It is shown that the contaminant concentration profiles obtained by simulation demonstrate the processes involved.
