The thesis aims to explain and critically assess the political thought of Necip Fazıl Kısakürek with a specific focus on his utopic formulation of the Başyücelik State. In this sense, we try to reveal that through which philosophical, theoretical and ideological foundations, Kısakürek could contemplate the politically ideal model of state and society. And under light of the findings of our research, the study argues that the idealised political model of state and society created by Kısakürek is structured within the ideological boundaries of the fascist doctrine. Further, our critical assessment reaches the main argument at stake by the aid of three major debates. Firstly, we assert that Kısakürek utilised the Bergsonian thought while constructing the metaphysical basis of his fascist design of state and society. Secondly, our study demonstrates that Kısakürek’s fascist aspects in terms of the totalitarian control of the fascist state authority over the individual body and population dynamics can be exposed through the theoretical framework of the biopolitical paradigm. Lastly, it is underlined that Kısakürek’s political model of the Başyücelik State has striking parallelisms with the fascist regimes in terms of systemic and ideological components.
