Plane strain analytical solutions for a functionally graded elastic-plastic pressurized tube
Eraslan, Ahmet Nedim (Elsevier BV, 2006-09-01)
Plane strain analytical solutions to functionally graded elastic and elastic-plastic pressurized tube problems are obtained in the framework of small deformation theory. The modulus of elasticity and the uniaxial yield limit of the tube material are assumed to vary radially according to two parametric parabolic forms. The analytical plastic model is based on Tresca's yield criterion, its associated flow rule and ideally plastic material behaviour. Elastic, partially plastic and fully plastic stress states a...
Plane-separated routing in ad-hoc networks
Ergenc, Doganalp; Onur, Ertan (2022-01-01)
Control and user (data) plane separation (CUPS) is a concept applied in various networking areas to scale network resources independently, increase the quality of service, and facilitate the autonomy of networks. In this study, we leverage this concept to design a plane-separated routing algorithm, CUPS-based hierarchical routing algorithm (CHRA), as an energy-efficient and low-latency end-to-end communication scheme for clustered ad-hoc networks. In CHRA, while cluster heads constitute the control plane to...
Slope stability analysis of a borax stockpile site
Karpuz, Celal (2009-01-01)
Stability investigations were conducted for a slope at the back of a borax stockpile site near the Bandirma Harbor in the northwestern Turkey. There was a slope failure at the site causing damage in the concrete sections of the harbour in front. Investigations started with deformation monitoring with an inclinometer. Failure mechanisms were determined with back analysis using method of slices and finite difference models. A combined failure mechanism involving a circular failure surface in the slope and a n...

Plane Wave Scattering from a Curved HIS: Normal Incidence
Durgun, Ahmet Cemal; Birtcher, Craig R. (2012-01-01)
An approximate analytical method is developed to characterize the reflection properties of a cylindrically curved high impedance surface (HIS). This method assumes a homogenized model for the curved HIS which can be extracted from the reflection properties of the flat HIS. In this work, only the normal incidence case is considered for TEz and TMz polarizations.
