A novel approach, involving the comparison of appearance and geometrical similarity of local patterns simultaneously via a combined description is presented. The proposed algorithm proved itself in scene logo retrieval domain, where significant appearance changes, especially due to affine transformations take place. © 2011 Springer Science+Business Media B.V.
