Transmission, reflection and thermoluminescence studies on GaS0.75Se0.25 layered single crystals
Delice, S.; IŞIK, MEHMET; Hasanlı, Nızamı (2015-10-01)
Optical and thermoluminescence properties on GaS0.75Se0.25 crystals were investigated in the present work. Transmission and reflection measurements were performed at room temperature in the wavelength range of 400-1000 nm. Analysis revealed the presence of indirect and direct transitions with band gap energies of 2.39 and 2.53 eV, respectively. TL spectra obtained at low temperatures (10-300 K) exhibited one peak having maximum temperature of 168 K. Observed peak was analyzed using curve fitting, initial ri...
Transmission and detection of terahertz radiation in a weakly ionized plasma (Conference Presentation)
TAKAN, TAYLAN; Alasgarzade, Namıg; YILDIRIM, İHSAN OZAN; Uzun Kaymak, İlker Ümit; ŞAHİN, ASAF BEHZAT; Altan, Hakan (2017-01-27)
Plasma, used as a terahertz (THz) detection medium has promising features. Several studies for mm-wave/THz radiation detection using various kind of methods for plasma creation such as neon indicator lamps [1], gas cells [2] and laser-induced air plasma [3] have been conducted. The interaction between the plasma and various frequency EM waves are still being investigated and in the mm-wave/terahertz range the interaction mechanism is still not well understood. In this study a home-built gas chamber with var...
Transmission and propagation properties of novel metamaterials
Şahin, Levent; Sayan, Gönül; Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering (2009)
Metamaterials attracted significant attention in recent years due to their potential to create novel devices that exhibit specific electromagnetic properties. In this thesis, we investigated transmission and propagation properties of novel metamaterial structures. Electromagnetic properties of metamaterials are characterized and the resonance mechanism of Split Ring Resonator (SRR) structure is investigated. Furthermore, a recent lefthanded metamaterial structure for microwave regime called Fishnet-type met...
