NULL AND INFINITESIMAL ISOTROPY IN SEMI-RIEMANNIAN GEOMETRY
GARCIARIO, E; KUPELI, DN (1994-04-01)
Null and infinitesimal isotropy are defined for semi-Riemannian manifolds in a more general context. A theorem of Karcher is extended to semi-Riemannian manifolds in a more general setting. Also, by using this theorem, a characterization of static blackhole metrics can be made as well as a characterization of Robertson-Walker metrics as Karcher made.
Some finite-dimensional backward shift-invariant subspaces in the ball and a related factorization problem
Alpay, D; Kaptanoglu, HT (2000-12-15)
Beurling's theorem characterizes subspaces of the Hardy space invariant under the forward-shift operator in terms of inner functions. In this Note we consider the case where the ball replaces the open unit desk and the reproducing kernel Hilbert space with reproducing kernel 1/(1-Sigma (N)(1) a(j)w(j)*) replaces the Hardy space. We give explicit formulas which generalize Blaschke products in the case of spaces of finite codimension. (C) 2000 Academie des sciences/Editions scientifiques et medicales Elsevier...
ON GENERALIZED LOCAL SYMMETRIES OF THE SO(2,1) INVARIANT NONLINEAR SIGMA-MODEL
BASKAL, S; ERIS, A; SATIR, A (1994-12-19)
The symmetries and associated conservation laws of the SO(2,1) invariant non-linear sigma model equations in 1+1 dimensions are investigated. An infinite family of generalized local symmetries is presented and the uniqueness of these solutions is discussed.
Optimization of vibration characteristics of a radar antenna structure
Baran, İsmet; Özgen, Gökhan Osman; Ciğeroğlu, Ender; Department of Mechanical Engineering (2011)
Radar antenna structures especially array antennas which are integrated onto structures of aerial vehicles are subject to dynamic structural and aerodynamic loads. Due to occurrences of these dynamic loads there will be certain dynamic deformations which affect the antenna’s performance in an adverse manner. The influence of deformations and vibrations are important on array antenna structures, since they cause a change in orientation of elements of the phased array antenna which affects the gain of the ant...
Minority policies in Bulgaria: countinuity and change
Tahir, Tahir; Türkeş, Mustafa; Department of International Relations (2003)
This thesis analyzes Bulgaria̕s minority policy followed by various governments during the Principality, the Kingdom, Peoples Republic and post-Communist Bulgaria. General discussion and assessment of minority rights standards within major international organizations is followed by analysis of minorities̕ status and treatment in Bulgaria since 1878. The thesis seeks answers to what have been the main features of minority policies in modern Bulgarian history, what has constituted its continuity and change.
