In this study, the dynamic response of a laminated beam is investigated experimentally and numerically. The beam was constructed using a balsa core and glass/epoxy facings. The boundary conditions are fixed at the one end and free at the other end. The tests were performed dropping a spherical mass on the free end of the beam. The dynamic strains were measured at two points on the beam. The beam was also modelled using the finite element method. The Ansys/LSDyna was used for modelling and the analysis of the laminated beam. The experimental and numerical results are compared for the peak strain and frequency.
