This thesis explores the impact of the regime policies of Azerbaijan on the perceptions of politics of young people in Azerbaijan, focusing on the experiences of undergraduate students. Through a generational lens, the study examines how historical, cultural, economic, political, social, and technological contexts of the country shape young Azerbaijanis' attitudes, values, and behaviors. The research explores various dimensions of daily life practices of young Azerbaijanis, including education, employment, family dynamics, gender relations, political preferences, and global dynamics. The findings highlight the multifaceted and interconnected nature of the regime's influence on the lives of young Azerbaijanis. The thesis comprises six data chapters, delving into generational distinctiveness, the political landscape, education lives, socializing practices, civil society engagement, and social and cultural relations. It emphasizes the strategic choices made by the younger generation within the constraints of an authoritarian regime, shedding light on their agency in navigating challenges and opportunities. Overall, this research contributes to the intricate interplay between generational identity and youth within the unique context of an authoritarian regime in Azerbaijan.
