Investigation of optical parameters of Ag-In-Se thin films deposited by e-beam technique
ÇOLAKOĞLU, TAHİR; Parlak, Mehmet; ÖZDER, SERHAT (Elsevier BV, 2008-07-15)
The optical properties of the Ag-In-Se (AlS) thin films deposited by e-beam technique were investigated by means of the optical transmittance measurements. The optical absorption coefficients of the films were found to vary from 10(3) to 10(5) cm(-1) over the wavelength range of 300-1100 nm. The real and imaginary parts of the refractive index and dielectric constant for the as-grown and annealed films in between 100 and 400 degrees C were evaluated by means of both envelope method (EM) and continuous wavel...
Investigation of Optical and Electrochemical Properties of Benzene Based Solution Processable 2,1,3-Benzooxadiazole Comprising Polymers
GÖKER, SEZA; Hizalan, Gonul; Hacioglu, Serife O.; Toppare, Levent Kamil (2020-01-01)
Four novel solution processable benzooxadiazole containing alternating copolymers namely poly (5,6-bis(octyloxy)-4-(5-phenylthiophen-2-yl)-7-(thiophen-2-yl)benzo[c][1,2,5]oxadiazole)PBOTPh, poly (5,6-bis(octyloxy)-4-(5-phenylselenophen-2-yl)-7-(selenophen-2-yl)benzo[c][1,2,5]oxadiazole)PBOSPh, poly (4-(furan-2-yl)-5,6-bis(octyloxy)-7-(5-phenylfuran-2-yl)benzo[c][1,2,5]oxadiazole)PBOFPh and poly (5,6-bis(octyloxy)-4-(5-phenylthieno[3,2-b]thiophen-2-yl)-7-(thieno[3,2-b]thiophen-2-yl)benzo[c][1,2,5]oxadiazole)...
Investigation of magnesium ions effect on sludge properties in phosphorus deficient bioreactors
Ünal, Eda; Sanin, Faika Dilek; Gültekin, Güzin Candan; Department of Biotechnology (2010)
The activated sludge process efficiency depends on separation of microbial cells from treated wastewater. Separation can fail due to a number of problems. One of these problems is sludge bulking which is non-settling situation of biomass. Former studies showed that phosphorus deficiency caused filamentous sludge bulking with increasing magnesium ion concentrations. The main objectives of this study are to find out the effect of magnesium ions on sludge properties in phosphorus deficient medium and to determ...
Investigation of parameters affecting morphology of microfiltration and ultrafiltration membranes fabricated via phase separation microfabrication
Bolat, Cankut Kaan; Çulfaz Emecen, Pınar Zeynep; Bat, Erhan; Department of Chemical Engineering (2017)
This study examines the factors affecting the morphology of polyethersulfone membranes produced via phase separation microfabrication technique. Flat and corrugated membranes were prepared using a combination of vapor induced and liquid induced phase separation, and characterized using scanning electron microscopy, pure water permeance tests and Baker’s yeast (Saccharomyces Cerevisiae) fouling tests. An inverse asymmetric morphology was tried to be achieved for corrugated membranes, in order to increase the...
Investigation of the Ligand Binding Characteristics of Staphylococcus aureus NorA Efflux Pump
Işık , Esra Büşra; Serçinoğlu, Onur (Orta Doğu Teknik Üniversitesi Enformatik Enstitüsü; 2022-10)
Staphylococcus aureus is a gram-positive bacterial pathogen which is highly adaptive to environmental conditions and causes various disorders. Excessive usage of antibiotics may result in development of antibiotic resistance in S. aureus. One of the resistance mechanisms is increase in the activity of transmembrane multi-drug efflux pumps. NorA is the most studied efflux pump in S. aureus, which belongs to Major Facilitator Superfamily (MFS). NorA has been shown to contribute to resistance against a variety...
