Study of Sorption of Alcohols on High Silica ZSM-35
Babuçcuoğlu, Yurdaer; Yücel, Hayrettin; Department of Chemical Engineering (2007)
This study investigated the equilibrium sorption capacities and rates of sorption of some alcohols on Na- and/or H- form of ZSM-35 at different temperatures by gravimetric method using an electrobalance. The alcohols studied were methanol, ethanol, propan-1-ol, propan-2-ol, n-butanol. The ZSM-35 sample used in sorption experiments resulted from a study for synthesis of high silica ZSM-35 zeolite. This ZSM-35 sample was called as NaZSM-35. The influence of ion-exchange on the sorption capacity and kinetics w...
Study of the Dijet Mass Spectrum in pp -> W + jets Events at root s=7 TeV
Chatrchyan, S.; et. al. (2012-12-01)
We report an investigation of the invariant mass spectrum of the two jets with highest transverse momentum in pp -> W + 2-jet and W + 3-jet events to look for resonant enhancement. The data sample corresponds to an integrated luminosity of 5.0 fb(-1) collected with the CMS detector at root s = 7 TeV. We find no evidence for the anomalous structure reported by the CDF Collaboration, and establish an upper limit of 5.0 pb at 95% confidence level on the production cross section for a generic Gaussian signal wi...
Study of high-p(T) charged particle suppression in PbPb compared to pp collisions at root s(NN)=2.76 TeV
Chatrchyan, S.; et. al. (Springer Science and Business Media LLC, 2012-03-01)
The transverse momentum spectra of charged particles have been measured in pp and PbPb collisions at root s(NN) = 2.76 TeV by the CMS experiment at the LHC. In the transverse momentum range p(T) = 5-10 GeV/c, the charged particle yield in the most central PbPb collisions is suppressed by up to a factor of 7 compared to the pp yield scaled by the number of incoherent nucleon-nucleon collisions. At higher p(T), this suppression is significantly reduced, approaching roughly a factor of 2 for particles with p(T...
Study of misalignment effects in the CMS forward hadron calorimeter
Kılınç, Cemali; Güler, Ali Murat; Department of Physics (2016)
The Compact Muon Selonoid (CMS) is a general purpose detector at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC). It is designed to investigate a wide range of physics, including the search for the Higgs boson and physics beyond the Standard Model. The CMS detector consists of various sub-detector systems, measuring energy, momentum, charge and trajectory of the particles produced by the proton-proton collision in the detector. The Forward Hadron Calorimeter (HF), a sub-system of Hadron Calorimeter (HCAL), identi es and me...
