The purpose of the study was to examine the relationship between health literacy, physical activity level, exercise self-efficacy, and physical activity stages of change in university students. Participants were asked to voluntarily fill out four separate surveys regarding health literacy, physical activity level, exercise self-efficacy, and physical activity change stages. A total of 378 university students participated in the study, 41 of whom were excluded because they did not meet the prerequisites of the study. Data analysis was carried out using SPSS version 28. According to the health literacy, 42.13% of the participants were classified as problematic, limited and inadequate. The physical activity level of the participants was moderate at 58.46%. The exercise self-efficacy status of 337 participants was found to be inadequate at 41.83%. Regarding the physical activity stages of change, the participants were classified as inadequate at the comptemplation stage as 44.80%. Another results showed that the physical activity level, exercise self-efficacy, and physical activity stages of change did not predict the health literacy, and non-significant results were obtained. To summarize, university students’ health literacy, physical activity level, exercise self-efficacy, and physical activity stages of change scores were found to be insufficient. In addition, physical activity level, exercise self-efficacy, and physical activity stages of change variables did not predict the health literacy of university students. Considering the findings development of new strategies for the future, conducting multidisciplinary studies and building collaboration between the relevant stakeholders in future initiatives can play important roles in improving public health, especially for the younger generations.
