Spatial justice is a concept that aims to promote a fair distribution of resources in urban areas and equality of social opportunity. It empowers urban planners and decision-makers to understand inequalities in urban areas and to formulate policies to reduce these inequalities. Inequalities in cities are increasing exponentially with the rapid development of cities. Slums, which are born as a result of rapid urbanization, are areas where these inequalities are visibly felt. Slum areas, which develop irregularly and unplanned, appear as areas deprived of even basic urban service provision. Inequality in service provision negatively affects the quality of life of residents. This thesis presents a comprehensive survey-based analysis of basic urban services provided in Mutlu Neighborhood, aiming to understand the perceptions and satisfaction levels of people living in planned and unplanned areas. The analysis was conducted through a 5-point Likert scale survey that assessed the opinions and preferences of residents living in the planned and unplanned/slum areas and analyzed and interpreted with SPSS. The experiences of the participants, the difficulties or conveniences they faced were analyzed and the results were evaluated comparatively from a spatial justice perspective. With the survey, a new scale has vi been designed and in the light of the findings, the current situation in the provision of basic urban services in Mutlu Neighborhood and the conditions that result in spatial injustice have been revealed. These analyses can support efforts to improve spatial justice not only in the Mutlu Neighborhood, but also in cities of today, and provide guidance to local authorities. By inspiring future research, this study can be a step towards a more just urban future.
