Building Information Modeling (BIM) has gained widespread acceptance as a method for managing building information in a digital environment. BIM offers a range of opportunities for integrating recent technologies into the design and construction processes, leading to greater efficiency in these areas. By integrating BIM, the construction industry can unlock tremendous potential, particularly in modular construction (MC) with more industrialized processes than other construction methods. While the theoretical benefits of this approach are well established, modular construction companies face challenges in transitioning from conventional methods to BIM. This study aimed to enhance the use of BIM in modular construction by presenting the advantages, barriers, and stakeholders' responsibilities to overcome these barriers. To achieve this, the study conducted a systematic literature review and qualitative research incorporating expert interviews with Turkish modular construction industry practitioners. The resulting analysis identifies the key advantages of BIM-MC integration, and the critical barriers to effective implementation, and presents stakeholders' responsibilities to overcome these barriers.
