Namlı, Olkan
Building Information Modeling (BIM) is one of the major developments in the Architectural, Engineering, and Construction (AEC) industry as it introduces innovative tools and approaches to the market. Considering its benefits, BIM implementation has been increased globally and many researches and surveys have been conducted to indicate the effects and outcomes. Although BIM adoption is becoming more frequent among developed countries, the implementation and use of BIM are not so common in some developing countries, including Turkey. The study aims to examine the BIM awareness of governmental bodies and local authorities, which carry out building permit processes and direct the AEC sector, in case of a potential BIM implementation process in Turkey, from the perspective of institutional work theory.
