A tunable multi-band metamaterial design using micro-split SRR structures
EKMEKÇİ, Evren; TOPALLI, Kagan; Akın, Tayfun; Sayan, Gönül (2009-08-31)
This paper presents the results of a feasibility study for the design of multi-band tunable metamaterials based on the use of micro-split SRR (MSSRR) structures. In this study, we have designed and constructed a conventional split-ring resonator (SRR) unit cell (type A) and two modified SRR unit cells having the same design parameters except that they contain two (type B) or four (type C) additional micro-splits on the outer square ring, along the arm having the main split. Transmission characteristics of t...
A CDMA system wideband feedforward linearizer design based on an analytical model
Coskun, AH; Demir, Şimşek (2003-01-01)
Feedforward systems are complicated due to the presence of two nonlinear amplifiers and the requirement of amplitude, delay and phase match in two different loops. Analytical tools that characterize this complexity help the designer a lot in rapid and accurate initial optimizations, particularly for wideband applications. In this work we present a wideband feedforward linearizer design for CDMA applications, based on an analytical model and speed and accuracy aspects of the results are compared with RF simu...
A Multi-level Inverter System Design with Multi-winding Transformer
Sankurt, Turev; Sezenoglu, Ceyhun; BALIKÇI, ABDULKADİR (2011-09-10)
Because of environmental factors and sustainability concerns, renewable energy sources are the state-of-art today. In energy conversion it is important, the output of the system to be suitable with standard applications, for both economical and compatibility issues. To fit the system output voltage and frequency with the international standards, battery packs and transformers are widely used. For modularity the major problem in this area is large physical dimensions. In this study a high frequency multi-win...
A Compact Imager Design Concept for Micro/Nanosatellites Using Scanning Mirrors
Leloğlu, Uğur Murat; SUBAŞI, Yuksel (2015-06-19)
In this work, a compact imager design concept for micro and nano satellites is introduced. Although the performances of these platforms are increasing, the imagers cannot keep up with the platforms due to mass and volume limitations. Hence payloads require novel designs to have better imagers on board of these platforms, in terms of spectral resolution, spatial resolution, signal to noise ratio and field of view. The concept that we present here involves an object-space flat mirror that can be rotated aroun...
A PARYLENE BONDING BASED FABRICATION METHOD FOR GRAVIMETRIC RESONANT BASED MASS SENSORS
Gokce, Furkan; Aydın, Eren; Kangül, Mustafa; Toral, Taylan B.; Zorlu, Ozge; Sardan-Sukas, Ozlem; Külah, Haluk (2017-06-22)
In this study, a fabrication method utilizing parylene bonding for gravimetric resonant based mass sensors is presented. First, parylene bonding was experimentally tested and compared with the literature. Average shear strength was measured as 16.3 MPa (sigma=3MPa). Then, resonators located on top of a microchannel for real-time detection were fabricated using the presented method. Simulations and experiments verify proper operation of the fabricated resonators, and the applicability of the method for fabri...
