The aim of this study was to investigate the mediating roles of perceived cultural distance and perceived social support on the association between acculturative stress and the general adaptation of international students in Türkiye. In this study, in which a correlational research design was used, international university students over the age of 18 studying in Türkiye were selected as the sample through convenience sampling. Four hundred thirteen international students filled out the data collection instruments including the Personal Information Form, Acculturative Stress Scale for International Students, Cultural Distance Scale, General Adaptation Scale for International Students, and Multidimensional Scale of Perceived Social Support. Data were collected online after the announcements were shared on social media targeting international students and universities’ international student officies. Data were analyzed using parallel mediation analysis. The results show a significant negative relationship between acculturative stress and general adaptation, and this relationship is significantly mediated by perceived cultural distance and perceived social support. The literature was consulted to discuss the study's findings, and recommendations for implications and further research were made.
