Suha Selamoğlu

Suha Selamoğlu was born on December 16, 1929 in Ankara. After graduating from Gazi High School, he entered Istanbul Technical University and graduated as a Mechanical Engineer in 1952. He did his military service as a reserve officer in Erzurum between 1952-54. He worked as a mechanical engineer at Turkish Sugar Factories Inc., Electrical Works Survey Administration, Workers' Insurance Institution and State Hydraulic Works until 1960. He received his doctorate from Brown University (USA), where he went for higher education, in 1964 and worked as an Asst. at the same place until 1966. Prof. continued as. METU Mechanical Eng. Asst. Department in 1966. Prof. Suha Selamoğlu, who participated as the head of the department between 1967-68. Assoc. in 1972. Prof. received the title of Professor in 1978. His expertise was in fluid mechanics and heat transfer. His book "Fundamentals of Fluid Mechanics" was published in 1988. He retired in 1997. Apart from his duties at METU, he was at the University of Michigan as a visiting professor between 1978 and 1980. He worked as a technical consultant at TÜBİTAK UAE and as a publishing consultant at TÜBİTAK Science and Technology magazine.
