Prof. Dr. Naci Sevinç was born in 1946. He graduated from METU Metallurgical and Materials Engineering Department in 1968. After completing his master's degree in 1970, he went to the United States with an AID scholarship within the scope of the mission of developing the field of production metallurgy at the Department, and completed his doctorate study (MIT, 1971-1975) in January 1976. He returned to the Department of Metallurgical Engineering. Prof. left permanent and positive marks on the Department of Metallurgical and Materials Engineering and its graduates with his personality and the courses he gave. Dr. In addition to his contributions to our country in the fields of production metallurgy, iron and steel production and ladle metallurgy with his academic studies and the students he educated, Naci Sevinç made significant contributions to both the Department and METU in many positions he held, such as Head of the Department (1997-2003), and retired in 2013. .
