DANIELSON, Anders
The alleged contradiction between the neo-classical model of the farm household and Boserup's theory of agricultural growth is shown to be artificial. In this paper, a general model of the farm household is developed. It combines the features of the standard, neo-classical model with endogenous technical change in Boserup's fashion. The model is used to investigate issues relating to surplus formation, investment, and intersectoral trade.
