This thesis examines the misalignments between educational outputs and labor market demands in Türkiye. It comprises three main chapters. The first main chapter analyzes the incidence, correlates, and outcomes of education and skill mismatches, revealing a high prevalence of education and skill mismatch among full-time workers, which results in wage penalties and affects job satisfaction. The second main chapter extends the analysis to field-of-study mismatch, showing that a substantial portion of tertiary-educated workers are employed in fields unrelated to their studies, causing wage penalties. The third main chapter shifts focus to the demand side, analyzing how technology use and the nature of job tasks influence wage outcomes. It shows the wage benefits for workers using complex information and communication technologies (ICT) with higher education and those engaged in non-routine tasks, supporting theories of skill-biased technological change and task-based approaches. The findings collectively underscore the need for policy interventions that enhance the alignment of education outputs with labor market needs, emphasizing the role of technology in shaping labor market outcomes.
