The main objective of this paper is to provide a theoretical aııd empiricai analysis of workers* emigration from Jordan to petroîeum-producing countries, particuiarly to Saudi Arafoia. în view of the widening wage differential between these two count- ries and the low wage differential eîasticity of emigration, direct emigration control is advocated as the appropriate policy for Jordan.
