The dataset is extracted from a representative sample of all multi-owner firms in Turkey, constructed using the online search engine of the Gazette published by the Turkish Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges (Ticaret Sicil Gazetesi). The dataset was formed by randomly sampling firms (starting with a random registry number, n, and continuing with n+100) registered in the 7 major cities (İstanbul, Ankara, İzmir, Bursa, Adana, Denizli, Konya) in Turkey between 1957 and 1994. It includes details on the legal type and sector, as well as the gender of founders and board members.
