In this article, some remarks will be made oıı typical problems encountered in statistical analyses of iııcomplete data. It is intended to be an eXposi- tory survey of the current state of arts on statisti- cal analyses of incomplete data, and involves per- sonal remarks about definitions, concepts, and the steps, of the analyses for the purpose of helping researchers dealing with such data. Such issues become important especially in the analyses of sur- vival data concerning life tests and for the analyses of medical, biological, economical, social, ete. data when either the observations are missing out of a kııown total ııumber. These types of data are fre- quently encountered and hence their statistical esti- mation procedures differ from those of conventional «complete» data. Togteher with the tpes incomplete data the statistical estimation problems which com- monly arise, will also be discussed briefly.
