In this paper, an attempt is made to look at the nature of the relationship between the size of tariff reductions and static welfare gains. For this purpose, an empirical economy-wide optimization model is applied to the Turkish economy, and the sensitivity of static welfare gains is examined as different solutions obtained under simulated tariff cuts of differing sizes.
