Fluxgate-based current sensing is a prevalent method employed in residual-current devices (RCDs). However, the design and analysis of fluxgate transducers present challenges due to non-linear operational characteristics. Although approximations and assumptions have been utilized to address the nonlinearities, the modeling and simulation of fluxgate transducers are not adequately elaborated in the literature. This paper proposes new modeling approaches and simulation-based analysis of fluxgate transducers. Modeling and simulation capability of the fluxgate current sensor may not provide designers with succinct analytical equations but valuable insights into the operation of non-linear circuits.
