SINGLE-GENERATION ENVIRONMENTAL CLUBS UNDER THE ASSUMPTION OF THRESHOLD VALUE

1989
SEPASSI, Gholam Reza
An environmental impure public good, as the club good, with an exogenously fixed life span is being considered. The importance of the threshold value consideration in the depreciation function as far as the derivation of all Pareto-Optimal conditions (i.e. provision, toll, maintenance and membership) are concerned is being examined. It is argued that neglecting the threshold value m i g h t very well lead to an overestimation of the benefit derived from reduced depreciation. Iience the benefit signal due to this exaggeration would be misleading. Institutional arrangement for club membership have also been reexamined.
