Osman Sevaioğlu

Osman Sevaioğlu was born in 1950. Osman Sevaioğlu graduated from the Department of Electrical Engineering at Middle East Technical University in 1972 and received master's and doctorate degrees in the same department. Between 1972-1975, 1976-1979, 1979-1999, he worked at TEK Planning and Coordination Department, Hacettepe University Electrical and Electronics Engineering Department and Middle East Technical University Electrical and Electronics Engineering Department, respectively. In 2001, he was elected as a member of the Energy Market Regulatory Authority by the decision of the Council of Ministers. In 2003, he returned to his position at the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering at Middle East Technical University. His main research topics are electricity transmission and distribution systems, energy economics, and liberalization in the electricity sector. Sevaioğlu has articles published in many professional journals and congresses. Between 1979 and 1999, he served as Deputy Head of the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering at Middle East Technical University. SPO VIII. He served as Vice Chairman of the 5-Year Development Plan Electricity Sector Specialization Commission and Chairman of the Liberalization and Competition Sub-Commission in the Electricity Sector. In 2002, he received the IEEE, PES Chapter Outstanding Engineering Award. He has been working at the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering at Middle East Technical University since 2003.
