Erdinç Sayan was born in Çanakkale in 1955. He completed his undergraduate education at METU Industrial Engineering Department in 1979. He received his master's degree in Logic, Philosophy and History of Science from METU in 1982, and his master's degree in Philosophy from Ohio State University in 1988. In 1994, he completed his doctorate at Ohio State University. He worked as an Assistant Professor at METU Department of Philosophy between 1994-1997. He became Associate Professor in 1997 and Professor in 2014. He retired in 2015.
